Remarks Designed to German Vaval Architect Oswald Berckemeyer as ‘an entry level yacht for the Cape to Rio yacht race’, the Miura quickly built up a reputation as a sound, safe and seaworthy boat with its unique ‘tumblehome’ (round sides) shape. Around 250 were built in South Africa and have proven immensely popular amongst the cruising community. There are (unsubstantiated) claims that more Miura’s have circumnavigated the globe than any other existing single class of yacht. The current owner purchased her in 2017 with a proven pedigree having completed the 2003 Cape to Rio and then returned to South Africa. It was then transported to his home in 2019 for a comprehensive refit, sparing no expense. Unfortunately due to health and personal reasons, he is forced to let her go. The yacht was relaunched in May 2025 with Sigma Epoxy Primer and antifoul applied.
